Convert Procreate brushes to GIMP

Want to use Procreate brushes in GIMP? GIMP cannot open .brush files, and no version of it reads them. Converting the .brush to .gbr creates a file GIMP imports natively. Bitmap tips are written as native .gbr brushes, and pen dynamics travel as a matching Paint Dynamics preset beside them.

How it works

1. Upload your Procreate brush. Drop the .brush / .brushset file into the converter. We support multi-brush files.
2. Pick GIMP as the target. You can select several targets at once and get one download per format.
3. Download and install. Copy the file into GIMP's brushes folder. You can find this under Edit › Preferences › Folders › Brushes. Then click the refresh button in the Brushes dialog.

What carries over

From Procreate: Brush tips and grain, stroke path settings, grain behavior, and Apple Pencil pressure and tilt dynamics.

Writing to GIMP: Bitmap tips are written as native .gbr brushes at their intended size. Computed round and square tips become .vbr files so hardness, roundness, and angle stay adjustable. Pressure, tilt, and jitter dynamics travel as a matching Paint Dynamics preset written beside the brush. Grain has no equivalent in GIMP, and the result screen names anything that had to be adjusted.
