Installing a converted brush in Clip Studio Paint

A converted .sut file functions as a complete, native sub tool and installs with a double-click. Your custom brush tips, grain, and dynamics are fully packaged inside the file.

Convert a brush to Clip Studio What is inside a .sut file

Step 1: Install the .sut file

  1. On desktop, double-click the .sut file or drag it into the Sub Tool palette in Clip Studio Paint. It appears as a new sub tool immediately.
  2. On iPad or phone, open the Sub Tool palette menu and choose Import sub tool…, then pick the .sut file from Files.

Troubleshooting

The stroke looks solid or has no texture. This indicates a rare issue with how the grain was packaged. Please submit a feedback report so we can investigate.
The tip is a plain circle. This indicates an issue with how the tip geometry was mapped during conversion. Please submit a feedback report.
I cannot find the Sub Tool palette menu on iPad. If the interface is hidden, tap the wrench icon to show your tools. You can also use the touch and hold gesture to show the menu.
