Convert GIMP brushes to Clip Studio Paint

.gbr → .sut in your browser. Textures, grain and pressure curves carry over — and the result screen lists exactly what was preserved and what was adjusted.

How it works

  1. Upload your GIMP brush. Drop the .gbr / .gih / .vbr file into the converter. Multi-brush files are supported.
  2. Pick Clip Studio Paint as the target. You can select several targets at once and get one download per format.
  3. Download and install. On desktop, double-click the .sut or drag it into the Sub Tool palette. On iPad/phone, import it from the Sub Tool palette menu. If you chose to include the tip and grain images, they arrive as PNGs beside the .sut — see the install guide.

What carries over

From GIMP: Tip imagery with its size and spacing from .gbr and .gih (the first frame of an animated brush), and the full parametric recipe of a .vbr — radius, hardness, aspect ratio and angle.

Writing to Clip Studio Paint: Tip and grain images are available as an optional extra download, in case you ever want to register them by hand (guide linked below). Grain textures larger than 1024×1024 are resampled to fit, and color-mixing behavior is approximated for some brush types.

Common questions

Will the brush feel the same in Clip Studio Paint? Yes. Brushfactory maps your brush directly to native Clip Studio Paint settings. Strokes are never rasterized or estimated. If a setting has no exact equivalent in Clip Studio Paint, the result screen lists the adjustments.
Is it free? A free account gets you monthly conversions at no cost; Pro removes the limits and adds batch conversion.
What happens to your files? Uploads are converted in memory and deleted immediately. Your brushes remain private.
