Convert GIMP brushes to Krita
.gbr → .kpp in your browser. Textures, grain and pressure curves carry over — and the result screen lists exactly what was preserved and what was adjusted.
How it works
- Upload your GIMP brush. Drop the .gbr / .gih / .vbr file into the converter. Multi-brush files are supported.
- Pick Krita as the target. You can select several targets at once and get one download per format.
- Download and install. Import through Settings › Manage Resources…, or drop the .kpp into your Krita resource folder and restart. The tip image is embedded in the preset.
What carries over
From GIMP: Tip imagery with its size and spacing from .gbr and .gih (the first frame of an animated brush), and the full parametric recipe of a .vbr — radius, hardness, aspect ratio and angle.
Writing to Krita: The tip is embedded directly in the preset and texture settings map onto Krita's 0–200% texture scale exactly. Brushes that mix color map to Krita's Color Smudge engine behavior where possible.
